Family....Matters?

Sat Aug 16, 2008, 4:53 PM
Oy. This summer has been horribly wonderful. I have been spending the past eight weeks in the U.S. visiting my family and it has been a roller coaster of highs and lows. While I have been here I tried getting a job, but all the positions have been taken in the walking distance from my mum's house. I don't have a car so I spend all day every work day drawing, writing poetry and watching any TV show I find appealing. I have had the fortunate company of my best friend for life every once and a while, and my sister is always pleasant to be with. Its just hard because I miss home. My real home. With my own bedroom and not this guest bedroom that has a crib in it. Why did my sisters have to have children just when I realized I needed them the most? Why did this divorce have to spilt my soul in two? In one place I am scared to be myself and feeling like my family is just there to be someone to live with, and in the other I am left alone with my thoughts and nowhere close to my friends that I miss so much. At least today I discovered House comes back September 16th in the US. Thats always happy news. But for now, I am listening to the soundtrack of my life...Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory.

  • Mood: Distressed
  • Listening to: Runaway: Linkin Park
  • Reading: My poetry and wondering if it makes sense
  • Watching: Nickelodeon...SpongeBob ^_^
  • Playing: With my colored pencils...happy to see blue sky
  • Eating: Reese's and Pizza Hut breadsticks
  • Drinking: A&W Root Beer

First off that you very much for taking a look at my work. Right now is a difficult crunch for most people here. We are coming to another election and the issues do not balance well. You are completely correct that they are candidates are polar opposites, the problem is that they both have good views in some areas. Politics itself is not my strength, the media here always applies some bias to the topic. Since most broadcasting companies are either liberal or conservative, and a nice portion of people get there news from television, we create biases without noticing.

I personally hope we have a good election as well, and i'm really excited that you have an interest in our politics even in the slightest.

Thanks again, you made my day.

You are welcome, it is really good. And the symbolism is very real.
I have several friends in the United States, and I usually call them whenever our news reports bad news for you guys.
It hurts me to know that you are going through a rough time. especially since America had (and still has) so much promise to be a beacon of hope for those who want to make a fresh start on their dreams and their lives.
I hope whoever gets elected can help the first Democratic country in modern history (besides the Greeks in the ancient world) find its heart again.
(I think the only people who understand politics are those who teach it. And even they are biased without noticing like you said. So sad. Why can't people block out what they see and hear rumors of, and do what's best for the people?)
I am glad I made your day. And I wish you better days in the future.
